CASSINA 720 by MARCO ZANUSO
These two sisters are real icons of Italian design. In 1951 Marco Zanuso created this chair, and it was awarded the prestigious gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1951. Revolutionary for its time, since it was the first armchair to use polyurethane foam and a new spring system with reinforced elastic bands for optimal seating comfort. The design is characterized by slender metal legs that form a surprising contrast with the generous, comfortable seat and elegant armrests. In 2015, Cassina released a new edition of the ‘Lady’, enhancing the beauty of the original design with contemporary elements. This re-edition, which we offer you, consists of a steel frame with poplar plywood armrests, while the seat is made of polyurethane foam and polyester filling.
