ALKY by GIANCARLO PIRETTI for ARTIFORT
The Alky chair, designed by Giancarlo Piretti (Bologna 1940) in 1969, originally created for Italian manufacturer Castelli before being produced by Dutch company Artifort. A modernized interpretation of the traditional slipper chair. Its outstanding design has a continuous form where the base and seat flow as one unified piece, rather than appearing as separate elements. The structure consists of a metal frame covered with foam and upholstery, in this case, a soft brown nubuck leather.
