Aluminum Office Chairs by RAY & CHARLES EAMES for VITRA
The Eames couple constructed their chairs with cast aluminum and a seat frame meant to support a stretched synthetic mesh. Those chairs became the Aluminum Group, which Herman Miller began manufacturing in 1958. And while they have been in continuous demand, the line has changed and grown over the years. Vitra has been producing these office chairs for Europe since 1959.
Probably, this series of four chairs was manufactured in the late eighties or beginning of the nineties. These black powder-coated aluminum masterpieces, upholstered with an equally mysterious black cotton fabric, stand like four guardians of good taste in your interior. The condition of the chairs shows signs of use, with visible wear to the outer edges of the aluminum frames. The black fabric remains in an outstanding good condition.
